Machakos County’s governor, Dr. Alfred Mutua has weighed in on matters affecting the Wiper Party and its gradually diminishing influence in the Ukambani region. According to Mutua, the Wiper party risks losing the Eastern region’s votes if they make one slight mistake.
The Machakos county’s founding governor noted that the party must seriously bank on their strongest Governor Candidates to cement their hold on the Ukambani region.
“I really don’t want to comment on Wiper issues for I don’t agree with their ideologies. But in my honest opinion, I would say, if Wiper wants to seriously cement their touch in Ukambani, they must bank heavily on their strong governor candidates like Hon. David Musila, Hon. Wavinya Ndeti, and Hon. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr.” Mutua said.
Mutua also noted that these strong gubernatorial aspirants included Machakos county’s Wavinya Ndeti and his Kitui and Makueni counterparts Davida Musila and Mutula Kilonzo Jnr respectively. The three, according to Mutua are Kalonzo Musyoka’s trump card in the region.
This comes in the wake of Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka announcing his big for presidency come 2022.
Mutua however, said that he does not support Kalonzo’s presidential bid noting that the Wiper party’s ideologies are archaic.
“One slight mistake will cost Kalonzo Musyoka dearly. ” Mutua warned.
The outgoing governor is also on record saying that he will be vying for presidency come next year. According to him, the Ukambani region should shift camp from archaic Wiper to his Maendeleo Chap Chap party that insists on development-oriented politics.
